One tool, one problem.
Every product we make does one thing. If it needs a manual longer than this page, we haven’t finished simplifying it.
We got tired of bad plugins. So we started making our own.
We’re a group of founders running our own businesses — real ones, with real traffic, real orders and real problems. We started Indie49 because we like building products.
Between us we’ve built our own admin panels, our own internal tools, and a long list of small things that exist because something annoyed us on a Tuesday afternoon. None of them are famous. They just quietly do their job, which is all we ever asked of them.
We’ve also paid $79 a year for a feature that fits in 50 lines, opened a settings page with 14 tabs and closed it again — and, to be fair, we’ve probably shipped a confusing settings page or two ourselves along the way. That’s roughly how we worked out what we like.
So we decided to build what we’d actually install ourselves: small things that solve one problem, do it well, and stay out of the way. A plugin, a theme, or the foundation underneath — the size changes, the idea doesn’t.

What we believe
Free means free.
If we ship a free plugin, the free version is the real product — not a stripped-down demo. If we ever charge for something, it’ll be a separate product with separate value.
We use everything we ship.
Every plugin and theme runs on our own production sites. If it annoys us, we fix it before we fix anything else.
What we don’t do
- ✕ We don’t build plugins with 200 options. If you need that, use the big guys.
- ✕ We don’t do custom development or freelance work. We make products.
- ✕ We don’t lock basic features behind a paywall. If it’s in the plugin, it works.
- ✕ We don’t promise “the #1 plugin for everything”. We solve specific problems.
- ✕ We don’t have a sales team, a marketing department, or a Trustpilot page with fake reviews.
